PAGEANT   LIGHTING

 …ingenuity with vision

PAGEANT (PAGE Ambient Neo-Technology) Lighting is a range of programmable lighting components that include fully programmable, fully dimmable fluorescent lighting ballasts, feature coloured lighting from LED Tubelights and LED Matrix lights.

When used together these components provide the basis to dramatically control and alter the ambiance within the aircraft cabin. Additionally these components are a relatively simple mood lighting upgrade for an operator to accomplish as all lighting control is provided via the existing cabin management system.

PAGEANT Main Cabin Fluorescent Lighting

The cornerstone of the PAGEANT lighting range of components is the new fluorescent ballast and exciting cabin effects can be created even when this is the only component used.

Page has introduced two new PAGEANT  ballast designs. One is an integrated ballast/fixture design specifically for the Airbus aircraft whilst the second is a stand-alone ballast designed for other aircraft types including the B747 aircraft.

The PAGEANT ballasts contain advanced control techniques that provide smooth dimming between 2% and 100% of full light output.  In addition the duration between the fade, or rise, and the level of brightness for each light setting can be specified by the airline and pre-programmed within each unit.  This additional control, offering the benefit of slow fade and rise rates, provides softer changes in the main cabin lighting creating a more comfortable and relaxing passenger environment.

The unique feature is that the PAGEANT Ballast Units directly interface with the aircraft Cabin Management System thereby eliminating aircraft rewiring or the requirement for a dedicated lighting controller.   Complete lighting control is maintained via the Flight Attendant Panel and operated in the normal manner.

PAGEANT  LED Feature Lighting

Recent advances in LED technology have resulted in high brightness LEDs being readily available.    It is now possible to utilise the latest high brightness LEDs to provide washes of coloured light whenever the main cabin lights are in Dim or Low settings.

PAGEANT  LED Tubelights

Page Aerospace Limited has packaged high brightness LEDs into a rugged tube assembly to provide high reliability, directional wash lighting.

These LED Tubelights are available in single colour, or multi-coloured configurations. Unit length and LED pitch may be optimised for the individual application and light requirement.

In the basic form these LED Tubelights are designed to be directly powered from the aircraft DC supply. However, for greater control and a range of coloured effects a PAGEANT  LED Tubelight Controller can be used.

PAGEANT LED Tubelight Controllers

Where a changing colour wash is required to be integrated and automated with the aircraft cabin management system, the multi-coloured tubelights can be driven by a PAGEANT LED Tubelight controller.

The Control Unit has two functions.  The first is that it interfaces with, and interprets, the Cabin Management System’s lighting instructions and, secondly, it holds a profile for driving the multi-coloured LED Tubelights.

When loaded with a profile the unit will drive the multi-coloured LED Tubelights through a sequence of programmed colour changes that can set to run in a continuous  loop if required.     When another cabin lighting condition is selected, via the Flight Attendant Panel, then a new profile can be triggered.

PAGEANT  LED Matrix Feature Lights

The LED Matrix panel comprises a light source of 64 multi-coloured LEDs arranged in a grid pattern.  As with the LED Controller, the LED Matrix stores a pre-programmed light profile that allows the light to softly change between colours and intensities.

Usually the LED Matrix is secured within a housing specified by the Operator to compliment their cabin interior.

The PAGEANT  LED Matrix is offered in two versions; one accommodates a CIDS interface for Airbus aircraft, the other an OEU interface for Boeing aircraft.  Control inputs to the Matrix panel are supplied via the aircraft CIDS or OEU interface connections.
